As a parent, this terrifies me. I'm heartbroken that you're leaving the therapy industry simply because you sound like a breath of fresh air.
I once spoke to someone who worked for a well-regarded British LGBTQ charity and she scared the hell out of me. Her view was that basically any child who raised the slightest question about their gender should be frogmarched down to the doctor to begin "gender affirming care" which, as your article suggests, is exactly as reckless as I feared it might be.
Of course, there are many who benefit from such services and should not be denied them, but I worry about the careless and indiscriminate use of interventions without due care and attention to the consequences.
If you cut your hair short, you can grow it out, but with hormones and surgery, there are things, as you say, that you can't easily undo.
They should, for a start, have factored in your autism: it's a fledgling science but at least some studies show that autistic AFAB teens are more likely to develop a trans identity that then develops into a gender-fluid, non-binary identity. This should be strongly borne in mind by medical practitioners.
