By 45, all of us are grey - it's just that most of us dye our hair, just as most of us shave our armpits. It's not essential, but it's a social norm and a fashion choice. Those who choose not to dye their hair are making a choice of their own, and that's fine.
There's also a feeling that you need the 'right shade of grey' to pull off grey hair when you're young. People who go grey prematurely tend to have uniformly silvery tresses that suit the undyed look; the rest of us just look a bit scruffy. I know plenty of women who tried not dyeing their hair for a while and didn't like the result, and only gave up the dye when it had gone fully, 100% grey.
Alexandra grant clearly has some sort of toner on her hair to give it that vivid, almost violet hue. So, she's colouring it just like the rest of us, only in a direction of her own. Which, again, is fine. It's a choice, and it suits her.
