I can relate to most of these, but I am highly extroverted. I experience everything intensely but prefer to do so with other people.

The upsides: I have already created a lot of things I’m proud of and there are a thousand more to come. I experience real joy regularly, and a lot of people seem to really enjoy being around me.

The downsides: some people find me annoying. I get very hurt easily. I’m a total magnet for people with NPD and BPD because I’m empathic and idealise people.

I get the comments about mood disorders and it’s important to maintain self-awareness and get help when you need to.

It’s also important, as one friend put it, not to pathologise a personality type — there’s a gulf between “normal” and “bipolar” that was historically referred to as “having an artistic temperament”.

In my experience, it describes roughly half of all the creatives I’ve ever met (the other half are anxious-depressive) and roughly all of the entrepreneurs.
