Ideas are incredibly valuable, but they are not in the same 'bucket' as execution.

One of my favourite workshops is the Greenhousing Workshop: for the first half of the meeting, you are only allowed to say 'yes and ...' and get to add to and bolster each idea to make it as robust as possible.

For the second half the workshop, you are only allowed to criticise each idea, exposing each flaw and weakness.

You then vote, and only the strongest ideas make it to the backlog.

I don't think I've ever seen an idea make it to the final product in an enterprise company that much resembles the idea as originally pitched. It's been through so many revisions that everyone can claim credit for it.

This is a good thing.
