It's important to remember that good people stay at bad companies for a variety of reasons:

- financial constraints (e.g. new mortage - any move might present a risk)

- lifestyle constraints (e.g. new baby - don't have the headspace to look around)

- network constraints (sure, the management is toxic, but most of my friends are still here)

- emotional constraints (too depressed to summon the energy for change)

- physical constraints (being worked to within an inch of your life, no time/energy to look around)

- legal constraints (Theranos hired people on visas and threatened them with deportation if they complained)

While a toxic company can turn salty, don't make the mistake of assuming that anyone applying from that company is a bad egg.
