It's like there are two versions of reality. There's a distinctly American flavour, but I see pockets of it here, where men are fearsome and feared, and women are hurt and angry. The bro-ish model of masculinity is vulgar, brutish and entitled, and the women are bitter, resentful and fearful.
Then there's the world inhabited by most of the rest of us - at least in most of Europe, places like Canada and probably in innumerable US households. Men and women are equal partners at home and in the workplace and they basically like each other. Men are comfortable expressing emotions and asking for support; women are comfortable stepping up to lead and planning an ambitious future.
I'd much rather live in the latter world.
