Listen to yourself very carefully.

We all have moments where we need to rest, but the really severe burnout happens when we don’t pay attention to the cues our body is giving us.

If you’re feeling lazy, only do the really essential stuff. Simply tell people, “I’m not feeling my usual self right now, so I need to just dial it down a notch for a short while, so that I can be full steam ahead in no time.”

If they have even the vaguest idea of what you’re capable of, they’ll understand.

Much better to take a little rest now and recover than fall down later and not have the strength to get back up.
