Not wanting to take your word for it, I searched for off-guardian.org, as it an unfamiliar news source:
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/offguardian/
'Overall, we rate OffGuardian a Strong Conspiracy and Moderate Pseudoscience website that also promotes Russian propaganda.'
I would need to find a better source than that! So, I googled for information about the trials.
The Lancet retracted its article in May after 'serious problems' were found in its trials, after which the WHO resumed investigations. (That's the story you're referring to.)
On 4 July, The WHO said that, after further trials, they were halting trials of Hydroxychloroquine as they were sure it is ineffective. This was based on data from the Solidarity Trial’s International Steering Committee, not from Surgisphere.
Other sources that are saying Hydroxychloroquine is ineffective for covid-19:
- Oxford University
- The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- National Institutes of Health
Sources still trialling it alongside other drugs to *prevent* covid-19:
- MORU (testing 40,000 frontline workers)
Sources saying we should use it:
- off-guardian
- CNN
Given the unreliability of the pro-Hydroxychloroquine sources, I'm sticking to my original position - but I'd be interested in the MORU trial to see if it works for the prevention of covid-19.
