The only reason we should be using labels is to quickly identify preferences and likely needs.

If someone tells me that they are Type 1 autistic (lower support needs), then I know that I don't need to provide that much in the way of accommodation, but I really shouldn't surprise them with a rowdy party. If they're Type 3, I'm a little out of my depth and would need to ask more questions about what they'll need, and what to expect from them (for example, if they could participate asynchronously in a workshop because they are slower to communicate than the allocated time).
