There was a recent news article here (UK) where a man successfully sued for wrongful termination after getting fired for (he says accidentally) using the n-word in a DEI training course, while he himself has dyslexia and struggles to fully process thoughts before speaking.
I sense that we're not being told the full story (it was in the Daily Mail - hardly a bastion of accuracy) but it raises the question that a safe space ought to be a safe space and such transgressions should be talked out, even argued about, rather than the conversations shut down.
