While I was late-diagnosed with ADHD, I've had frequent cravings for those things plus cashew nuts, chicken, and Marmite (yeast extract) for years, many of those things from early childhood. I don't know if increasing my intake of seaweed and nuts was really the thing that lifted post-covid brain fog, but they definitely coincided.

You said that it might be a case of having too much glutamate, rather than too little, that's the problem (and I also noticed on WebMD that people with epilepsy should avoid it, too). In that case, why do I have such strong cravings for them? I get the intrinsic appeal of cheese, but why yeast extract and seaweed?
